Te Koha Organics is a family run organic fruit and vegtable growing business that is spread over two properties Te Koha Orchard and Shiloh Orchard.
We are situated between Hastings and Havelock North in Hawkes Bay, on the sun-drenched East coast of the North Island Aotearoa New Zealand.

Te Koha orchard consists of 36 acres/14 Ha of fully certified organic and biodynamic land. We have five main varieties of apples; Royal Gala, Braeburn, Fuji, Granny Smith and Red Delicious, and about twenty more that we are looking at that are disease resistant or older European varieties. We also have two acres of feijoas, a tasty sub-tropical fruit,  four acres of veg production and an assortment of sheep, chickens, children and one incredibly tolerant dog named Bob.

Shiloh Orchard is 11 arcres and is also certified and has Apples , Plums and Pears as well as bare land that is home to our helpful cows .

The orchards get applications of bio-dynamic preparations and we also apply cow pat soil food and composts to the land which we make from our own greencrops grown on our properties and use manure from our helpful cows. There are many trees and shrubs native to New Zealand planted to provide shade and shelter for the animals and staff, and a habitat for insects and birds. The orchards understorey is full of plants that have grown naturally and also that have been planted for beneficial reasons: for example this year chicory and comfrey have been used to aid drainage in certain parts of the orchard.

All our practices are guided by a belief that improving our soil health will lead to healthy plants and healthy plants lead to great tasting healthy food.
